As beautiful as summer and airy dresses are, for many it is also an annoying time. You constantly have to shave your legs, underarms, and bikini line to make the unsightly hairs disappear. Permanent hair removal is a solution here, but for many, it remains just a dream due to the relatively high price.
Philips has come up with something here and developed the Philips Lumea IPL.
What is the Philips Lumea IPL?
The Philips Lumea IPL works like permanent hair removal. It works with light pulses; these send the hair into a resting phase, it falls out and does not grow back. However, since the light pulses are weaker than with permanent hair removal, you have to repeat the treatment with the Philips Lumea IPL every few weeks; only then will you be free of hair in the long run.
How does the application with the Philips Lumea IPL work?
It makes sense to shave before the treatment, then the whole procedure is faster and, above all, the hair is gone immediately. If you don't want to do that, you can also use the Philips Lumea IPL without shaving, but you have to wait a few days for the hair to fall out on its own.
The device is set according to the instructions and then guided over the desired body areas. The light pulses emitted during operation send the hairs into a resting phase; they stop growing. The treatment should be repeated every 4 weeks on the legs and every 2 weeks in the underarms and bikini line. Anyone who sticks to this will be free of hair in the long run. If you take a break of several weeks, the hair will grow back.
What should be considered when using the Philips Lumea IPL?
The Philips Lumea IPL is very gentle on the skin and can also be used on sensitive skin. There is practically nothing to consider, just a few small things.
The device must never be used on the face!
The Philips Lumea IPL does not work on red, gray, and light blonde hair or on very dark skin.
Anyone who has a skin disease, is being treated with medical ointments, or has damaged skin must consult their doctor before treatment. As a precaution, it is advised not to use the Philips Lumea IPL on these areas.
The device has a UV filter, so UV rays cannot damage the skin.
Since the Philips Lumea IPL was developed for home use, no special training is necessary.
But if you consider that you never have to shave again and therefore never have reddened, inflamed skin areas again, the purchase is definitely worth it. Unlike epilating or waxing, the treatment is also completely painless. Thanks to its battery, you can also operate the Philips Lumea IPL in any room without a power outlet; it is handy and weighs only a few grams. The perfect device to make hair removal easy.
