Recipe for a homemade oat-yogurt bath

What you’ll need:

  • 500 g rolled oats
  • 250 ml plain yogurt

Instructions:

Fill the linen bag with the rolled oats and close it. When you want to take your bath, add the oats and the plain yogurt to the running bath water.Caution:The bath water should not be warmer than 38°C, otherwise the skin may react with redness. The bathing time should not exceed 10-15 minutes.

The secret lies in the oats

Oatmeal baths are ideal for soothing dry and itchy skin.Important:grind the rolled oats until a uniform powder is formed – this is significant for an effective oatmeal bath. Through pulverization, the oats have the opportunity to release their active ingredients into the water and thus soothe the skin.

Now you can put the oat flour into a cloth bag or simply sprinkle it into the water. As soon as the oats combine with the bath water, a milky consistency is created. To further support the skin, you can also add yogurt or oil to the oat bath.

After 10-15 minutes, the bath is finished. Afterwards, you should rinse off with clear, warm water.

The oat bath is particularly suitable for

  • insect bites,
  • chickenpox,
  • sunburn or other eczema.
