The Adventure park in Gänserndorf has opened. I think it's great that the area of the old safari park is being used again and is also equipped for children. For me personally, it is still a great pity that the safari park attraction was not continued. Driving around in the middle of the Marchfeld between giraffes and llamas in your own car was a highlight for me! But enough of the old days: Full of anticipation, I set off with my twins and my parents to explore the adventure park, here are our experiences:
Attractions in the adventure park
In the new adventure park in Gänserndorf, there are several stations that you can try out:
Petting zoo and pony riding
Children love animals and a petting zoo is just the right thing. In the adventure park in Gänserndorf, you can observe goats and sheep up close and also pet them. Food for the goats and sheep is available directly at the goat enclosure, where a feed dispenser has been set up. Right opposite, children from 3 to 10 years (maximum 45 kg) can practice riding, as you can ride the tame ponies. Attention: from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. the animals are given a break.
If you take a short walk, you can observe other animals in the enclosures. My children liked the enclosure with the rabbits best!
Slackline course
Slacklining is on everyone's lips, so you can also practice as a slackliner here. Slacklining is similar to tightrope walking. In the adventure park, there are several hoses or webbing straps stretched between the trees, some of which are equipped with ropes to hold on to.
Archery safari
Going on a safari and hunting wild animals is now also possible in Gänserndorf. With bow and arrow, you can 'hunt' 15 exotic big game animals in life-like 3D format here. Highlights are the Indian temple and the pond with an alligator. The entire equipment can be rented and there is a detailed introduction. You can complete the spacious course either alone, in a group, or with an archery guru.
In 2015, we finally tried out the archery safari and our 6-year-old children were thrilled. Beautiful course with various targets. And the younger siblings in our group were also eagerly practicing with their special children's bows.
Info: The archery safari is possible for children from 6 years of age, but from 6 to 18 years only when accompanied by an adult. If toddlers are also part of the group, special children's bows with suction cup arrows can be borrowed for free.
Adventure playground
The adventure playground is a highlight for our 2.5-year-old twins. There is everything a toddler's heart desires:
- Sandbox
- several swings
- a long slide
- climbing course
- and much more.
I think it's great how the trees or tree stumps have been incorporated again and again. The only thing that is missing a bit is more shade for the playground; unfortunately, some equipment has ended up in the blazing sun.
Disc golf
For disc golf, you need a golf disc and a course map. This game has rules similar to golf. There is a defined tee-off zone from which you have to throw the disc towards the target basket. Where the disc lands, you have to mark the spot so that you can continue playing from there in the next round. The lane is finished when all discs have landed in the target basket. The goal is, of course, to finish the course in as few throws as possible.
The length of the lanes is between 10 and 20 meters, depending on the course and level of difficulty. The total playing time is approx. 15 minutes. The disc golf disc is ready for you right at the entrance to the disc area.
This game is very suitable for families and groups. Children can play from primary school age.
Forest climbing garden
The forest climbing garden is definitely the heart of the adventure park. This climbing garden has been integrated into the tree population with great attention to detail. 90 platforms at heights of 1 to 9 m, 8 courses with different levels of difficulty, and 9 flying fox facilities with a total length of 800 m can be tried out in the magnificent forest climbing garden. The practice course is laid out right at the entrance, where you can practice a little before you head into the air.
In 2015, the time had finally come and I was able to try climbing with my children – and right away: We are thrilled. We tried out the 3 smaller climbing courses and not just once that afternoon. The flying fox sections were always the highlight for the children (and for me too!).
Attention: Children are only allowed to conquer the heights from the age of 6 and 120 cm in height when accompanied by an adult.
Wellington boot golf
The whole family can play along in this fun game. All that is needed are wellington boots, which act as throwing equipment, as well as the course map – everything can be obtained at the cash desk. The golf rules are simply written on the boards at the marked points. No special physical condition is required here, just a little skill and stamina.
Children's go-kart
A dream for little racing drivers comes true in the Gänserndorf Adventure Park: A separate race track has been built here for the little racers directly in the forest, where they can drive around in go-karts to their heart's content. The go-karts are from Berg, a world market leader, very stable and solid. The course leads through the beautiful forest, which also provides nice shade on hot days. At the pony stand, the little racers can also borrow helmets.
Llama trekking
In the Gänserndorf Adventure Park, children, teenagers, and adults have the opportunity to get to know the calm and good-natured llamas up close. Here you can take part in hikes with llamas. After a short introduction at the llama enclosure, you will learn everything you need to know about handling the llamas and you are ready to go. You hike with the llamas in the surroundings of the adventure park. You can pet and feed the llamas. Llamas are very sensitive and, due to their reserved yet friendly nature, are excellently suited for activities with people. On this hike, you can wonderfully relax and forget about everyday life and stress for a while. The tour lasts approx. 2-3 hours and takes place mainly on weekends or public holidays.

Trampoline
A trampoline is an attraction for young and old, and it is not only fun, it is also healthy, as the whole body is trained here. In the adventure park, there is a large trampoline where you can wonderfully let off steam. A ticket can be bought at the pony park and off you go.
Extra info: Safety and quality are very important in the adventure park; the jumping nets are replaced annually. For safety reasons, only children up to 12 years (50 kg) are allowed to jump on the trampoline.
Generations climbing park
New since 2015 is the generations climbing garden (1 m height) where small children (under six years) and adults can climb with climbing equipment. This is included in the park admission. Our children tried this out immediately and they liked it very much. Here you can test nicely whether climbing is something for yourself or for the children. If so, definitely try out a course in the forest climbing garden; we had a lot of fun climbing.
Catering in the adventure park
In the middle of the facility, there is a snack stand where you can buy small things to eat and ice cream. There are tables and benches with parasols where you can strengthen yourself and rest. The service is really very friendly and also fond of children.
Admission prices for the adventure park
For the adventure park, you only have to pay a few euros admission fee , included in this price are the use of the disc golf course, the slackline facility, the petting zoo, and the adventure playground. Furthermore, there is an ice cream stand, seating options, and a toilet facility. For all other activities, separate prices must be paid.
Opening hours of the park
The park is in 2021 from 27.3.2021 to 31.10.2021 :
- in April, May, June, September, October, Sat, Sun, public holidays and school-free days 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- from March 27 to April 4 (Easter holidays) Mon-Sun daily 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- July, August, Mon-Sun daily 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- From 27.10. – 31.10 (autumn holidays) Mon-Sun daily 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
School and group events are possible at any time by personal appointment.
At Bad weather the park reserves the right to change opening hours, the admission price cannot be refunded.
Offers in the adventure park
The adventure park is a real family park, as many offers are also suitable for toddlers. In addition, activities take place here again and again. The annual pumpkin festival has become a tradition, where young and old can spend a wonderful day. There is also the possibility to book birthday packages for your children or to take advantage of childcare in the summer months. Furthermore, beautiful festivals are celebrated again and again, and in 2021 there are some again:

Children's birthday in the adventure park in Gänserndorf
In the adventure park in Gänserndorf, children can celebrate their birthday in an action-packed way. Various birthday packages are offered for children from 3 to 6 years and from 6 to 14 years. There are different packages for every taste with various activities, from climbing, children's go-kart to trampoline jumping or arrow tag and much more.

The adventure park in Gänserndorf offers summer camps in summer

In the camps, the children can try out many stations of the adventure park and are looked after all day, so that boredom can definitely not arise.
An adventure park for children!
My conclusion is very positive! The park is generously laid out and largely in the shade. We got everywhere with our twin stroller. Of course, the adventure park is best when the children are 6 years or older and can also use the forest climbing garden. We were there for the first time with our children when they were just 2.5 years old – here they liked the animal enclosures and the adventure playground the most. Now our children are 6 years old and we have tried out the archery safari and finally the climbing. We are very enthusiastic, especially because the climbing garden has been built so beautifully into the tree population. The highlight is always the flying fox when climbing. And it is especially nice that there is almost always an activity to be found for the younger siblings: When climbing, the smaller ones can let off steam in the generations climbing garden, and for the archery safari, there are special children's bows with suction cups that the children can easily operate. Now that the children are older (between 8 and 10 years), we have already celebrated several children's birthdays.
Throughout the park, all employees were very child-friendly and accommodating. I personally think it is a great enrichment for our area. Curious? Try it out – but beware: plan enough time, an afternoon is usually far too short for all the offers!
