Fruit - Kiwi

Some fruits are a little difficult to peel or do not harmonize with all desserts, such as kiwis. But there are a few simple tricks here too, making them universally applicable:

Cutting and peeling kiwis correctly

To get Kiwis to be able to peel better, simply roll the fruits back and forth with your hand. To cut, place the fruits in an egg slicer, it's super fast and they look nice because they are so uniform. Excellent for decorations.

Kiwis are easier to scoop out

Everyone knows the struggle with delicious kiwis – it is often difficult to get to the fruit flesh. However, if you roll the delicacies back and forth on the kitchen counter a little, you can peel kiwis more easily.

Kiwis ripen faster

Kiwis usually need a few days of storage until they reach a nice ripeness. However, this process can be accelerated if you place an apple next to the unripe fruit. The ethylene contained in the apple – a gas – accelerates the ripening process of the kiwis. The rule of thumb also applies in the opposite case: fruits that should not spoil quickly must not be stored together with apples.

Kiwis on yogurt cakes

Unfortunately, fresh kiwis and yogurt cakes do not harmonize at all. The gelatin either does not set or the cake even tastes bitter. If you still want to top your yogurt cake with kiwis, you should follow this tip: peel the kiwi and briefly dip it in boiling water, that helps!
