Overview in the freezer compartment

The larger the freezer, the more important it is to label things precisely and keep them organized. You don't want to end up processing completely outdated items. We have tips here on how you can bring order to your freezer.

Labeling plastic containers

To ensure you still have an overview of what was frozen and when after some time, this tip has proven effective: note the date on a piece of paper and stick it onto the lids of the plastic bowls. This way, you can always see immediately how long something has been in the freezer! Simply cut small scraps of paper or attach Post-its to the lid of the bowl with adhesive tape.

Seal well

A bag of frozen fish here, half a loaf of bread there, and fries mixed in between. To prevent the contents of frozen goods from spilling, you should seal the bags well. This is where sealable clips work very well again, or you can simply take Clothespins.

If you want to freeze home-cooked food, special freezer containers are excellent. These can be provided with stickers on which the production date and the dish can be noted. I really like the Tupper freezer containers; they are airtight and available in practical sizes.

List in the kitchen for an overview

For a better overview, a list in the kitchen where all frozen products are recorded helps. There are, for example, erasable boards for the wall. This way, you can immediately see what kind of dish is available for cooking and how long it has been in the freezer. The list should contain the freezing date, type of product, and "expiration date". Looks great with a magnet on the refrigerator wall.
