Rust is the greatest enemy of Iron. To prevent it from getting that far, here is a tip:

It is best if iron pieces are simply rubbed with petroleum jelly. This delays rusting.

No oxygen and water

Iron should be exposed to as little water or oxygen as possible.

Waxing

For paintwork, regular waxing helps.

Scratches

Repair small scratches in the paint immediately, otherwise it will continue to rust happily.
