Colds are very common, especially in the cold season. Small children in particular are repeatedly infected and suffer from side effects such as a runny nose and cough. Here I have collected a few tips for home remedies:
Tips for colds in toddlers
Steam
A Humidifiershumidifier is best if the children are sick often. If you don't have one, you can help yourself at night with a bowl of boiling, steaming water (always place it out of reach of the children!). If you like, you can add thyme, chamomile flowers, or sage. I always added lavender oil because it also has a calming effect. This helps the children sleep better. By the way, wet towels didn't do much for us.
Also a Inhalation device for toddlers is very helpful. If you don't have one to hand, it helps to sit in the bathroom several times a day and let the shower run hot. Always keep the bathroom nice and warm.
If they have a cough, you should still take the children out into the fresh air a lot, unless it is foggy or constantly drizzling.
