Lawn - Mowing the lawn - Garden maintenance

For a beautiful, well-kept garden, nothing is too good or too expensive for some gardening enthusiasts. Whether scarifying or fertilizing, mowing by hand or with a lawnmower – a beautiful lawn needs to be cared for and nurtured before it develops into a pure, green area. But especially in the summer months, it requires particularly intensive care if you want to boast a perfect lawn. If it is too dry, the lawn lover will have to settle for daily watering – whether with a garden hose or special sprinkler systems, those who do not take sufficient care here will be rewarded with a dried-out and unsightly lawn in no time at all. With careful maintenance, however, it will thrive and grow well.

And it does so so quickly that you can practically watch the grass grow – for a flawless lawn, the gardener will probably have to reach for the lawnmower several times a month. Whether an electric or gasoline-powered lawnmower or even a ride-on mower is used to help is actually irrelevant, the main thing is that the lawn is trimmed. Less pleasant is the fact that mowing happens so frequently that there is hardly any time left for other things – emptying the collection container is also usually annoying and can also lead to back problems. What can you do to save time and pain and still call a perfect lawn your own?

Robot mowers for a beautiful lawn

Already on the market for some time, but still smiled at by many as a fun toy, the Robotic lawnmower is gladly recommended by specialist retailers. It works autonomously and moves independently on the lawn area to be worked on. At the same time, thanks to sensors, it skillfully avoids obstacles such as bushes, trees, flower pots, garden furniture, or curious dogs and mows only the lawn. However, so that it does not go astray, a small boundary wire must be laid at the edges of the lawn before using this device. Once the robot mower is ready for use, mowing can begin immediately.

Robotic lawnmowerThe robot mower now orients itself during mowing by the boundary wire and the once-set north direction. For any layperson, the way it mows will appear chaotic and disadvantageous, as the robot mower does not mow the lawn in lanes as we are used to, but wanders criss-cross over the lawn. The result remains the same in the end and is impeccable. The numerous small blades cut all blades of grass down to the grass roots. After some time, it is therefore not surprising that a change of blades is necessary. When changing the blades, all safety instructions must be strictly observed; however, if you are not sure, you can get expert advice from a specialist retailer or have the change carried out there.

The cutting height can of course also be adjusted on the robot mower. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the robot mower, just like other lawnmowers, can only mow to a limited extent if very steep slopes or similar are to be worked on. Here, humans will still have to lend a hand themselves. For the ears, this device should be a pleasure in every respect. Thanks to its quiet motor, working on public holidays is even possible. Security measures have even been taken against thieves: anyone who wants to secure their robot mower can do so with a security code. These robots certainly do not lack mechanics and high-tech.

It is very important that the lawn robot should only run during the day so that hedgehogs do not become victims.

More and more robot lawnmowers are being offered in stores; the top brands are currently Husqvarna, Bosch, and Gardena. The prices vary here; there are already robot mowers starting at € 250. However, you have to pay attention to the functions here. The top models among the robot mowers now dock independently at the charging zones to charge the batteries. It is almost impossible to save more time. The volume also plays a major role for some.

The forecast for the sales of the robots will rise continuously in the coming years, thanks to research and improvement of the devices. We can therefore be curious about the skills of the mowers.
