You put your knitting needles aside and suddenly some stitches slip off. Here is a simple tip so you don't have to keep starting over:

Knitting needles and cork
Always put a Cork on the tips of the knitting needles, then nothing can get lost!
Knitting needles and modeling clay
If you don't have any corks on hand, a little modeling clay also works well. Simply roll it into a ball and stick it onto the tips.
Eraser
An eraser also does a similarly good job and ensures that the stitches don't go off on their own.
Equally useful: simply stick the needles into the ball of yarn – nothing can slip here and nothing can fall either.
