Unfortunately, white laundry develops a grey haze after some time. Here is a tip on how to remove it:
White laundry with baking powder
Depending on the amount of laundry, add a few packets of baking powder to warm water and soak for a few hours. Then wash as usual in the washing machine. The laundry is nicely refreshed!
The baking powder acts practically like a mild bleaching agent. It contains bicarbonate and, due to its "carbonic acid development," also dissolves stubborn dirt. If you put baking powder in a glass of water, you can observe the "boiling process." The baking powder starts to work and dissolves the dirt in the laundry.
Soap nuts
Alternative: Soap nuts. This invention of nature and product of the soap nut tree (Sapindus mukorossi) contains the substance saponin. This is released from the soap nuts during washing and acts like detergent or soap. Result: the laundry becomes clean, fewer chemicals are added to the environment, and for people with sensitive skin (neurodermatitis, etc.), this product is a blessing.
