Organizing the refrigerator correctly

To ensure that food is really well stored in the refrigerator, you need to know which temperature is best for which food. With this knowledge, you can prevent food from spoiling faster or losing its flavor. The temperature in the refrigerator is not the same everywhere, so there are naturally places that are very good or not so good for certain foods. Here are a few instructions:

Organizing the refrigerator correctly

The top shelf

This is the second warmest place in the refrigerator, at about 8 degrees. This is the best place for cheese and smoked foods. In addition, jam stays nice and fruity here. Leftovers from the previous day are also well-placed here.

Middle shelves

This is the optimal place for dairy products such as yogurt, quark, pudding, milk, etc., because at 5 degrees it is too cold for bacteria to multiply. Just don't choose even colder places, as that can affect the taste of the dairy products.

On the glass shelf

This is the coldest part of the refrigerator at 2 degrees. The back wall is particularly cool; this is the optimal place for sensitive and perishable foods such as fresh meat, fish, and seafood. In front of that, you can store sliced sausage very well.

Vegetable drawer

Under the glass shelf, it is significantly warmer again at 8-10 degrees. Fruit and vegetables feel very comfortable there.Extra tip:Always store apples alone in a vegetable drawer, as their gases cause other fruit to age faster.

Door compartments

The top compartments are 12 degrees and further down it is 10 degrees. Therefore, butter should be stored in a compartment at the very top, as it is not as hard there. In addition, eggs, jam, and sauces should be kept here. The milk is also usually kept here, but that is actually not so good, because it is too warm for the milk here!
