Soups are a warming meal, especially during the cold season. Children in particular love clear soups with additions such as semolina dumplings or sliced pancakes. But what other options are there for soup additions? How do homemade semolina dumplings turn out well? Here are a few tips:
Soup additions for clear soups
- Schöberl
- Cheese press dumplings
- Liver dumplings
- Polenta rounds
- Liver rice
- Frittaten
- Soup pearls
- Pasta
Add the soup addition to the soup right away?
Not all soup additions should already be floating in the soup. Some become mushy if they float in the soup for too long. Therefore, the following accompaniments should only be added to the soup at the table:
- Soup pearls
- cooked additions such as liver dumplings, semolina dumplings, cheese press dumplings, etc.

- 1 egg
- 2 pinches of salt
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch of soup seasoning
Instructions:
Beat the butter with the egg, nutmeg and salt until frothy, then stir in the semolina and let it rest for approx. 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, bring water to a boil in a pot, add the soup seasoning, and season with a little salt.
