In any household, there is always a lot of bits and pieces that need to be stored neatly. Of course, you can buy plenty of cartons and boxes in stores for this. But if you want to save a little money here, this money-saving tip is a good choice.
Tips on how empty tin cans can still be used
Empty tin cans for storage
Empty tin cans are still excellent for storing small parts. Whether as a container for screws, needles, or paint, you save yourself the purchase of expensive bowls and plastic containers. In my opinion, the empty nut cans from cashews or macadamia nuts are especially recommended. If you are creative, you can of course decorate these cans beautifully with paints and accessories.
Nut can as a paint can
There is always something to paint around the house, so we usually have large paint buckets. However, these are very impractical for a few small touch-up jobs. That is why I use the nut cans here, pour some paint into them, and can very easily walk around the room and touch up paint spots. When you are finished, they can also be sealed well again or disposed of with a clear conscience – saved a bit more!
Can as a plant pot
In the garden, a can can also be used as a plant pot. If you have painted it nicely beforehand, you have a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece for your flowers.
Crafts
Empty cans are great for crafts – just be careful: inside, some cans are sharp after opening and you can injure yourself. Either use a can opener that smooths these edges or simply tape over the rims. Children can store pencils, erasers, or small toys in them.
Dyeing eggs
At Easter, empty tin cans are great for dyeing eggs and you won’t ruin nice bowls or pots.
