Watering plants correctly
You should never water your plants directly onto the soil from above, as this leads to a hardening of the top layer of soil. It is better to pour the water into the plant's planter; from there, the plant will take the amount of water it needs.
Let the water sit
It is best to let the water sit in a watering can or a barrel so that it warms up and becomes more suitable for watering your beloved plants.
Use cooking water
Cooled cooking water from potatoes, vegetables, or eggs is excellent for watering flowers. The water from boiling eggs, for example, is enriched with calcium and provides nutritional value for the plants.

Extra tip: To prevent mosquitoes from breeding in the rainwater barrel, simply pull a large pair of nylon tights over the opening of the barrel. This way, water can get in, but mosquitoes cannot.
