Cinnamon

In a kitchen, a wide variety of smells often come together. It is probably well known that the smell of roast meat paired with fish and cake scents does not necessarily smell particularly good. Nevertheless, smells of all kinds can hardly be avoided on holidays or various festivities. Where there is cooking, there are vapors. So that arriving guests are not bothered by the various smells, the best odor killers for the kitchen are listed here.

Pleasant scent for guests

Cinnamon and sugar

Shortly before the party starts, let a pot of cinnamon and sugar slowly warm up on the stove. This exudes a wonderful 'baking smell' and your guests will feel comfortable.

Coffee powder dispels unpleasant odors

Coffee is not only very popular with hot drink lovers – the powder can also very effectively "eat" odors. A little coffee powder on a small plate helps to bind unpleasant odors in the kitchen and refrigerator. After just a few minutes and for many hours, the coffee exudes its aroma and thus makes nasty cooking fumes disappear.

Citrus peels as odor killers

The peels of many citrus fruits have proven to be very useful against particularly stubborn odors. Whether fried fish or braised roast – when the whole apartment smells of your culinary skills, you want to get the situation under control quickly. Often, however, airing out alone is not enough and guests can already smell the braised cabbage or beef roulades in the hallway. If you want to dispel strong or intense odors as best as possible, you should cut open citrus fruits and preferably place them on still lukewarm stove plates. After a short time, the essential oils are released and a pleasant scent drifts through the living rooms.

Eliminate fishy smell from pans

Fish is delicious and healthy – but old fish smell can be quite annoying. Sometimes the scent of already eaten fish dishes really sticks to pans and pots. This is not only unpleasant, but also affects other, subsequent dishes. Therefore, you can also eliminate the most annoying fish smells with this trick: simply put a little salt in the pan or pot and heat it up until the salt has turned brown. Then the cookware is washed and cleaned. Now the pan or pot smells neutral again and old fish smells are a thing of the past.

Help, my fridge smells funny!

That can happen too. It's not the rooms or the dishes that seem to smell funny, but the refrigerator is the culprit. Actually, this is hardly surprising, as the refrigerator has to house the most diverse foods of unequal odor. Whether an old smelly cheese, a started clove of garlic, yesterday's food, or an open pack of tzatziki – smells like to arise, but they do not have to be tolerated. To bind the annoying smell in the refrigerator once and for all, you use a very simple aid: simply place a small bowl of baking powder on one of the refrigerator shelves and the odors will be bound. As a rule, this aid lasts a good two weeks, after which you should renew the baking powder.

And how do I remove onion smell from my hands?

Onions are very delicious and simply indispensable in many dishes. But the bulb not only brings tears to our eyes, but even after cutting, the delicious smell sticks to the hands, although you don't need this scent forever. To get rid of this smell, you should rub your hands thoroughly with toothpaste and then rinse well.
