Salads are always in season, and it's often the dressing that makes the difference. To refine your dressing, we have a few tips here:
Pickle juice from the gherkin jar
I got this tip from my grandma: To refine the dressing for salads (I like to use it for pasta salad, for example!), just add a splash of juice from the gherkin jar. It replaces the vinegar and gives the salad a special touch!
Refining salads quickly
But it's not just the delicious juice from pickled gherkins that can enhance dressings – chili pepper juice or mixed pickle juice are also considered insider tips and spice up many a dressing.
Salad dressings don't just have to consist of vinegar and oil or a little mayo. With a few clever ingredients like yogurt, cream, mustard, buttermilk, or crème fraîche you can spice up dressings in no time. This is, of course, ideal when you don't have much time but still want the meal to taste good.
Depending on the dressing and your taste, simply add a little yogurt or a tablespoon of mustard to the ready-made dressing, stir well, and pour the salad dressing over the salad just before serving. Simply delicious!
But also Herbs are a real insider tip. Especially fresh chives or chervil, crunchy parsley or tarragon refine the salad and make a simple dish taste especially delicious. With finely chopped onions, a little garlic, or shallots you can further enhance the salad.
