Cookies as a memory game

Children (and adults too) often love eating cookies. For a children's party or just for a lovely afternoon, I would like to introduce a few games here to make snacking on cookies even more fun:

Cookies as a memory game

Shopping list:

  • Cookies, e.g., butter cookies
  • Food coloring or for icing: powdered sugar and lemons

To refine the Cookies as Memory to spice them up, decorate them with motifs using food coloring (or icing). Always 2 of the same motif for 2 cookies. Let them dry well so the motif doesn't smudge.

The game works as follows: The cookies are turned over so that the motifs can no longer be seen. When a child has found both cookies, they may be eaten.

Memory with a twist

Of course, you can organize many other delicious games with cookies. Whether on holidays to help pass the time for the children, or to bridge a rainy day – the little ones will be delighted.

How about this variation?

Shopping list:

  • 12 tissues
  • Some cookies
  • 20 paper cups
  • A die
  • Some parcel tape

The tissues are filled with two to three cookies and then sealed with the parcel tape. These cookie packages are placed into one paper cup each, the other paper cups remain empty. The paper cups are now well distributed on a table so that no one knows where the cookies are hidden.

Now everyone sits around the table and the rolling of the dice begins. The youngest child begins and rolls once. Whoever rolls a specific number (optionally one or two desired numbers) may now choose a paper cup. If they are lucky and the cookie package is in the cup, they may snack on the contents. If the child was unlucky, it is the next person's turn. And so on.

Have fun playing along! ?
