I bought myself a black suitcase because I find black very elegant. But when you're waiting at the baggage carousel, 90% of the suitcases are black. You can't catch the name tag that quickly, and in the end, I envied the vacationers with bright, colorful suitcases. But buying another one right away was out of the question (though if this one breaks, my next suitcase will definitely be colorful!). However, I found plenty of ideas on the internet for being able to recognize a black suitcase from afar, and I would like to list my favorites here:
Marking suitcases
Gift ribbon on the handle
I got this tip from my best friend and implemented it right away. Tie a colored gift ribbon as a small bow to the handles of the suitcase. This way, you can identify your own suitcase super quickly.
Suitcase strap
For our hard-shell suitcases, we also bought a suitcase strap in rainbow colors. They hold the suitcase together AND you can see them from afar. These straps are available in many colors.
Stickers
If the suitcases are made of plastic, you can decorate them with fun and colorful stickers. Our children had a lot of fun putting the stickers on the suitcase. It looks much more colorful right away and you can recognize the suitcases very well.
Adhesive tape
Another possibility is to decorate the suitcases with colorful adhesive tape. Simply stick on a large cross or other symbols. This way, you can also recognize your suitcases quickly.
Patches
If the suitcases are made of fabric, you can use sew-on or iron-on pictures.
Lacquer paints/spray
If you want, you can also mark your suitcase with lacquer paints or color sprays. Paint or spray on nice dots or symbols and the suitcase will be recognized from afar.
