Parchment paper when baking cookies

Cookies tend to be rather sticky, which is why parchment paper should always be used on the baking sheet. You can buy it in grocery stores everywhere now. It is usually rolled up, and this is where it often happens to me that the parchment paper keeps curling up again and again. But I have found a simple trick to stop that from happening:

Tips on how to keep the parchment paper on the baking sheet

Secure parchment paper with butter

So that the parchment paper on the baking sheet does not keep curling up, first roll it up in the opposite direction. Then under the 4 corners of the parchment paper spread a little soft butter and place it on the baking sheet. Thanks to the butter, the parchment paper finally stays where it is supposed to!

Crumple it up

For this, simply crumple up the parchment paper – yes, you read that right. Just make it into a ball, unfold it again, and place it on the baking sheet. It may not be as smooth as before now, but it lies flat on the sheet.

Place baked goods correctly

It takes a bit of fiddling, but it is also possible to place the baked goods directly on the four ends of the parchment paper and only then work toward the middle.

Extra tip: To reduce waste, parchment paper can be used again for many baked goods, for example when baking cookies or reheating rolls. If you still do not want to do that, it is best to use reusable baking liners.
