Salad with figs and cheese as well as fruity dressing

From our vacation in Crete, I brought back a very special recipe: a salad with figs and cheese. I must admit, I don't really like sweet and sour things, but I can't resist this salad. The combination of the figs with the fruity dressing is simply too delicious. How do I make it? I've flown the recipe in especially from Georgioupolis:

Salad with figs and cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 package mixed salad
  • approx. 100 g cheese (e.g., Gouda)
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1-2 tomatoes
  • 2-3 figs
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (if you like it more sour, 2 tbsp)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 handful chopped walnuts

Preparation:

For the dressing, mix the mustard, honey, balsamic vinegar, and orange juice well. Stir in the olive oil until it becomes a nice, smooth sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Roughly tear the lettuce leaves into small pieces and spread them nicely on a flat platter. Wash the figs well and cut them into quarters unpeeled, just cutting off the hard stem. Also, dice the cucumber, tomato, and cheese, and roughly chop the walnuts.

Now arrange the cheese cubes, cucumbers, tomatoes, and figs nicely on the salad, because as they say, we eat with our eyes. Pour the dressing over it and finally sprinkle with the chopped nuts and sesame seeds. The absolutely delicious salad is ready.
