Velux insect screen roller blinds

The saying "as annoying as a blowfly" is not without reason, as these unwelcome house guests are difficult to drive away. Since they are enthusiastic scavengers, they come into contact with carcasses and feces in the wild. It is therefore not surprising that no one tolerates these pests near food. Especially in spring and summer, numerous other insects buzz through the air alongside the flies. They quickly get lost in the apartment and annoy you, for example, with constant buzzing or, in the worst case, stings. In this regard, mosquitoes are a nuisance.
You can solve the problem with an insect screen. If you have seen and bought one of the many models in the Velux shop, you benefit from:

  • the special quality
  • an uncomplicated installation and
  • if required, professional advice.

Different insect screen roller blinds in the Velux shop

With a high-quality insect screen, you protect your home from the intrusion of pests. The roller blinds are particularly suitable in the kitchen to keep the little creatures away from food. With the help of these products, you can open the windows while cooking without flies or wasps – attracted by the smell of food – getting into the room. Accordingly, the models also ensure that you can enjoy lunch with your loved ones undisturbed.
In the bedroom, an insect screen roller blind from VELUX fulfills an important task. On balmy summer nights, residents like to sleep with the window open. However, mosquitoes disturb your sleep, leaving you with only the choice of closing the window or enduring the stings. Velux provides a quick and easy remedy with the transparent mesh. You can easily combine the screen with other heat and sun protection blinds from the provider.

What are the advantages of the insect screen?

Even laypeople can easily install the protective mesh, as they only need to attach it to the inner wall. This leaves the option of tilting or completely opening the windows. The product is also suitable for roof windows, where the perfect fit prevents it from falling down. The transparent mesh does not in any way impair the view outside and is made of a wear-resistant material.

  1. Very nice article. What I can also recommend are pollen screens. These have a tighter mesh than normal fly screens, so they keep pollen out of the house and protect allergy sufferers. The only disadvantage is that they are quite opaque and do not let as much light into the room.

  2. By the way, an important tip I got from my builder back then: do not install fixed fly screens, but rather roller blinds or frames that can also be removed from the mount (e.g., can be seen here, bottom right at the residential building: http://www.koenig-heinrich.at/einzelgewerke/baumeister ) – has the advantage, among other things, that you can clean them more easily and take them out in winter.
    Have a nice summer everyone!
