Cola helps with household cleaning

Even if you wouldn't think it possible, cola is in fact not only suitable as a drink. Rather, cola can be used for many things around the house. Forget the chemical cleaning products in your cupboards, because with a little patience and time, cola is not only the ideal helper – the dark beverage is also environmentally friendly and easy on your wallet!

Cleaning toilets with cola

Urine scale in the toilet is not only annoying, it also doesn't look particularly nice. Instead of reaching for aggressive chemical cleaners, a bottle of cola can also be extremely useful. Simply pour the cola into the toilet and let it sit for at least half an hour. Then briefly scrub the toilet bowl with a brush – done.

Mentos and cola are a good combination for drain problems

Is the drain clogged? Then you don't have to resort to environmentally harmful drain cleaners; you can use the help of Mentos chewy candies and cola instead. You will need

  • 2-4 Mentos
  • 1 liter of cola
  • 1 plug to seal the drain.

Put the Mentos into the drain (possibly crush them and then put them through the drain slots), then fill with cola and immediately seal the drain with a plug. A lot of carbon dioxide will then be produced, which naturally seeks its way upward. To avoid making a mess, a plug must keep the drain sealed. After a few minutes, the drain can be cleaned with warm water. Easy as pie!

Remove limescale deposits with cola

Limescale also doesn't stand a chance against cola. If the coffee machine or kettle is once again heavily covered with limescale, a bottle of cola can help. Simply pour the cola into the appliance and let it sit overnight. The next morning, the appliance can be cleaned and will look like new again.

Remove rust stains with cola

Cola removes the annoying small rust stains from scissors. Simply leave the scissors in a glass of cola overnight; by morning they will be clean!

Annoying rust stains can also appear on car bumpers, bicycles, or silverware. Removing them is not difficult at all. With a little cola and a toothbrush, you can remedy the problem. Apply the cola to the stains, let it sit briefly, and, if necessary, scrub with a toothbrush. The acids in the cola do a thorough job and dissolve the rust. What remains is phosphate, which can be easily removed – a great thing.
