DIY Christmas gift tags

Every year at Christmas, many beautiful gifts are wrapped colorfully. Every year, I faced the question of how to label the gifts without spending too much money. For a while, I bought special, ready-made tags, but since I like to wrap every little gift, I needed a lot of them. Then my children received a beautiful, self-designed birthday card from a dear friend with a motif punch and border punch, and that gave me the idea to make my own Christmas gift tags this year. Since I am so enthusiastic about it, I would like to give you some tips on crafting here:

What you’ll need:

• Motif punch (at Tchibo, Amazon, or discounters)
• Corner punch (at Tchibo, Amazon, or discounters)
• Border punch with interchangeable punch inserts (at Tchibo, Amazon, or discounters)
• colored construction paper (at Tchibo, Amazon, or discounters)
• pens with beautiful bright colors (definitely gold and silver!)
• scissors or cutter/paper cutter (available at Pagro, Amazon, or discounters)
• possibly stickers
• possibly Glitter
• possibly rhinestones for sticking on

Tips for buying accessories:

I bought my punches as a set and the construction paper cheaply at Tchibo, and I found the cutter at Pagro. I bought the beautiful ink rollers at Hofer. There are always promotions at Hofer, Lidl, or Tchibo where you can buy these craft supplies cheaply.

Instructions:

First of all, small cards are cut out of the construction paper. Before cutting, think about how much text should be on the card and how much decoration should be used for the edge. Do you want a card that folds, or is it enough for you to use just one side? It is also important to know which colors your loved ones prefer.

For example, I took different colors of construction paper, which I cut into single-sided, rectangular cards. The size was chosen to be a little larger so that there is still room for the text 'Merry Christmas' for the adults.

I cut out the cards with a cutter or paper cutter because I unfortunately don't have a steady hand at all. Anyone who wants to can also get craft scissors with patterns, there is already a nice selection of scissors with jagged, wavy, or deckle edges.

Decorate cards with punched motifs

Now the cards can be decorated individually. I mostly used the border punch on both long sides and punched the corners nicely with the corner punch. I used them in between to further decorate the cards. Through one of these punched motifs, the gift ribbon can be easily threaded. I kept the punched-out motifs, because you can stick them onto other cards for further decoration.

The Motif punchIt looks great here if you choose construction paper in different colors, as the motifs then stand out very nicely from the card. You can decorate the cards even further: either with matching

, with stickers or with Glitterrhinestones for sticking on. There are no limits to your imagination.Write the desired text on the cards with the pens and attach them to the gift. Individual cards for Christmas are ready. I am very curious to see how the cards are received this year – I definitely had a lot of fun crafting them.
