Zipper is stuck or keeps opening

Over time, zippers suffer, usually from washing, and develop their quirks; either they keep getting stuck, or they keep opening on their own. So that this clothing doesn't have to be thrown away immediately, we have collected plenty of tips here:

Zipper is stuck

Pencil

Take an Pencil and color the zipper on both sides with it; the graphite dust from the lead acts like a grease-free lubricant.

Soap

If you don't want to use a pencil, you can try it with soap. Simply run the soap along the snagging teeth repeatedly and rub it in well. Soap acts as a lubricant here and the zipper will glide again.

Candle

The same applies to a candle: As with the soap, run the candle along the zipper and rub it in well. The wax helps the zipper to glide perfectly again.

Hair conditioner or shampoo

Last but not least, it also works with hair conditioneror Shampoo: simply dip a cotton swab into the shampoo and distribute it on the zipper.

Zipper keeps opening

Here the problem is exactly the opposite: The zipper keeps opening all by itself. But there is a simple household tip for this too:

Key ring

Take a key ring and thread it through the opening on the zipper. Now you just need to hook the key ring onto the button and nothing will open by itself anymore.
