Paper

Sometimes you want to transfer ingredients from their packaging into nice jars. I often had little 'accidents' where the sugar didn't quite make it into the nice jar, but instead 'sweetened' my kitchen. Here is a trick to make it easier:

Paper as a funnel for dry ingredients

A piece of paper, an envelope, or other clean paper items can easily be used as a funnel for dry ingredients like flour, sugar, or salt. With such a self-rolled funnel, you can transfer ingredients without any problems.

Plastic bags as a funnel for liquid ingredients

For liquids (liquid food), clean, food-safe plastic bags are suitable. Poke a small hole in the plastic (preferably in one of the corners) and you have a makeshift funnel.
