Salt

Have you ever noticed that in some restaurants there is rice in the salt shaker? I wondered why for a long time. But here is the answer:

Rice grains for the salt shaker

To prevent the salt in the salt shaker from clumping, simply add a few grains of rice. The rice absorbs the moisture, which prevents clumps from forming!

Storing salt

Salt should always be stored well-sealed and airtight. Storage containers made of glass, ceramic, or plastic are best, but it also works if you seal a plastic bag with a rubber band. If you store salt in a mill, do not fill it completely, as the salt may absorb moisture from the air! Do not store salt in metal containers, as it can attack the metal and even cause it to corrode.

Salt has a shelf life of several years.
