When frying food, it can happen that fat splashes from the pan in all directions. It is annoying when it hits clothes or wallpaper, as the stains are stubborn. Furthermore, hot fat is also dangerous and you can get badly burned. Therefore, you should be very careful here.
Prevent grease splatters
To prevent fat splashes, there are a few tips to keep in mind so you don't have to clean as much afterwards:
- To prevent the frying fat from splashing too much, simply add a few grains of salt, flour, or a small piece of bread crust; this prevents splashes.
- Place a wooden cooking spoon across the pan and a piece of paper towel over it. This way, it cannot splash around as much.
- Only high-quality pansuse with high inner walls
- Generally use little oil
- Do not use cold-pressed oils when frying; prefer coconut fat, rapeseed oil, or clarified butter
- Do not add water to the oil or let the food drain well beforehand; water causes much more splashing
