For certain occasions, people like to send or give cards. As an invitation, as a thank you, or to congratulate someone on their birthday, there is always an opportunity. Children especially enjoy participating creatively and they love it when they get to decide what something should look like. That is why this craft is a nice pastime with the children and it makes mom-grandma-grandpa-dad hearts beat faster:
Make cards with children yourself
What you’ll need:
- construction paper
in bright colors
- scissors, possibly lever paper cutter
- possibly punches or punch set
- craft glue, Uhu Stick
- colorful Feathers
, glitter stones
, stickers
, glitter dust
- possibly glitter pens
Instructions:
The construction paper cut to the desired size of the card. Anyone with a steady hand can do this with scissors; I have a lever paper cutter
with which nice straight sides are achieved. For the cover sheet, I cut out another piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the card, where the decorations can go. I also decorated the corners of this one with a punch set
. I glued this smaller piece of cardboard onto the card. Now it's the children's turn:
They can decorate the card according to their own taste. We used glitter in a shaker container, Rhinestones, Feathers, stickers
as eyes and punches. There are no limits to the imagination here. In stationery or toy stores, there are wonderful accessories for decorating or complete sets, such as at Müller.
For children, glitter pens are also very practical; here they can dose it a little better than glitter from a shaker jar. Ribbons and flowers made of felt, fabric or paper are also suitable for decorating. Also nice are stamps, which the children can simply attach to the card. Inside the card, the children can draw pictures or make their first attempts at writing. Give it a try, we had a lot of fun with it!
