Toys for toddlers – Duplo

Children always want to play, and they prefer to imitate the things we parents show them. For years, the Lego brand has offered a wonderful toy for toddlers with Duplo. Even when I was a child, I played with the colorful bricks, and today my children are allowed to play with them too. Although I must say with envy that there are so many more sets and possibilities available these days.

Duplo – The toy for toddlers

Duplo is ideal for small children's hands aged 1 1/2 to 5 years. The bricks are extra large for their hands and very stable, so it is easy to put everything together and create structures. With this construction toy, they can build, play, and discover to their heart's content. All Lego Duplo products are subject to the highest possible safety and quality standards.

Reenacting reality at 2 years old

Children want to imitate us adults and also want to drive cars or go shopping. With Duplo, this is easily possible. There are various sets with cars or animals. And they can build wonderful towers with the beautiful large and colorful bricks – and knock them down again right away.

Playing with other children from 3 years old

From about 3 years old, the child still likes to reenact reality, but also enjoys playing together with another child. Now role-playing games begin, where the parents always represent the great role model.

Great master builders at 4 years old

At 4 years old, the little ones become great master builders. Here, houses, garages, or towers as well as entire landscapes are built. Girls like to decorate their garden with flowers and boys build their garages to protect the cars. The animals also become important; enclosures are built and the animals are well cared for.

Basic equipment for Duplo play adventures

Anyone who wants to give their children Duplo to play with is best advised to start with the basic brick box at the beginning. After that, Duplo animals were very well received by our children, such as the farm animals or baby animals. For boys, the Duplo vehicles are a hit and were always pushed through the whole apartment with matching noises by us. Girls like the princesses and houses in pink or purple more and more over time.

Meanwhile, there are also Duplo girls' sets in the matching colors and themes, such as princess, horse stable, or supermarket. And of course also Duplo boys' sets where vehicles, knights, and heroes are chosen as themes.

I am a fan of Duplo and have given it to my children to play with in good conscience. We can really recommend it. Above all, it lasts a very long time: I kept my Duplo bricks and now my children play with them. Only the figures look much more real now than mine :-).
