Especially in wet and cold autumn weather, our shoes are often put under a lot of strain by moisture. To help you get them dry again quickly, here are a few tips:
Tips for drying shoes quickly
Newspaper
You can dry shoes quickly with simple newspaper. Simply crumple up the newspaper and stuff it into the shoe. Fill the toe well with newspaper and let it stand.
Hair dryer
If you need to be very quick, dry children's boots with a hair dryer.
Egg carton
Wet or dirty shoes are best dried on egg cartons: The shoes are well ventilated from all sides and the moisture and falling dirt are caught by the carton. Afterwards, the carton can simply be disposed of, and nothing in the hallway has become dirty.
Saddle soap against hardening
To prevent wet shoes from becoming hard, rub them with saddle soap (available in shoe stores) before drying. And never let shoes dry directly on the heater.
Making leather shoes waterproof
Smooth leather shoes become waterproof and very supple by rubbing them with castor oil.
