Avocados

I am passionate about eating avocados; they are rich in minerals, trace elements, and vitamins. Unfortunately, they have a very high fat content, so you shouldn't eat them sooo often. They taste excellent and can be mixed well into salads and spreads. If you like, you can also simply scoop them out with salt. In supermarkets, avocados are usually very hard, so you have to wait a while until they are soft and edible. Here I have gathered a few important facts about the delicious fruit:

Tips all about avocados

How can I tell if the avocado is ripe?

You can tell by the fact that the fruit is rather soft and yields to finger pressure. You can also hear the pit when you shake it.

How can I make avocados ripen quickly?

To quickly ripen an unripe, hard avocado all you need is a little flour: Put the avocados in a bowl and add enough flour so that the avocados are nicely covered. After a short time, they are ripe and ready to be used.

How can you keep the avocado from turning brown so quickly?

Avocados in salads, sauces, or spreads can turn brown very quickly. I got a great tip for this from a friend who can make a very tasty guacamole: Simply leave the avocado pit in the cream until serving, because the enzymes in the pit prevent oxidation.

Other ways to slow down browning are vinegar or lemon juice.
