Star Wars themed cake for children's birthday

Because I always forget something every year, I made this list for myself so that nothing gets left behind at home. Here are my checklists for a children's birthday party celebrated at an external venue:

What do I need for the children's birthday party

Every child looks forward to a lovely birthday party, and I must admit, I still find it nice today to be able to celebrate a birthday properly. But for everything to be truly perfect, quite a lot needs to be organized. Here are my tips:

Shopping list BEFORE the birthday party

Here is my personal shopping list for a children's birthday party:

  • Paper plates
  • Paper cups
  • Plastic forks
  • possibly a tablecloth
  • Napkins
  • Candles
  • Decoration for the party room
  • Drinks for the children (small mineral water bottles are ideal)
  • Drinks for the adults
  • Coffee (possibly the chilled ready-to-drink coffee cups)
  • Kitchen roll
  • Goodie bags for the children
  • Gifts for the children's goodie bags (sweets, small toys, tissues, hair accessories, etc.)
  • Accessories for children's games
  • Small gifts or sweets as rewards for winning games
  • Order a cake or buy ingredients
  • Order dinner or buy ingredients
  • possibly snacks
  • possibly juices, shandy, or beer for adults for dinner
  • Trash bags
  • Children's plasters or a small first-aid kit

What should be taken along to an external birthday party

If the children's birthday party is celebrated at an external venue, quite a few things always need to be taken along. Here is my checklist so that nothing is forgotten at home:

  • Cake in a cake box
  • Decoration for the party room
  • Candles
  • Lighter
  • Knife for cutting
  • Cake server
  • Napkins
  • Paper plates
  • Plastic forks for the cake
  • Drinks for the children (small mineral water bottles are very suitable here!)
  • Drinks for the adults
  • Paper cups
  • Coffee, milk, sugar (best to perhaps buy the chilled coffee cups ready-made, or fill up a thermos!)
  • possibly plastic coffee cups
  • possibly plastic spoons for coffee
  • Kitchen roll
  • possibly a small broom for sweeping up cake crumbs
  • Spare clothes for your own children
  • possibly goodie bags with small gifts and/or sweets for the children
  • possibly snacks
  • possibly dinner
  • possibly plastic cutlery
  • possibly shandy, beer, or juices for adults
  • Trash bags
  • Bag or sack for the gifts
  • possibly a tablecloth for the table
  • possibly accessories for games (pot and wooden spoon for 'pot knocking', etc.)
  • possibly small gifts and/or sweets as rewards for winning games
  • possibly CD player/MP3 player for music
  • Children's plasters or a small first-aid kit
  • very important: mobile phone with the phone numbers of the children's parents ?
  • if the birthday is celebrated outdoors: vehicles for the children, balls or sand toys, as well as sun protection

Did I forget something? Then I would be happy to receive comments or emails on the topic!
