Description

OmniBlend V high-performance blender for smoothies

The robust motor of this device, which delivers up to 3 HP (up to 2,238 watts) of power, immediately catches the eye. This is not surprising, as the OmniBlend V was originally intended for commercial use in the catering industry. It has 3 speed levels: Low, Medium, and High, as well as a pulse function and 3 program buttons with 35, 60, and 90-second blending programs. For many preparations, it is advisable to start with the 'Low' speed level, then switch to Medium, and finally use High to ensure the ingredients are blended as finely as possible. The automatic blending programs allow for preparation after a fixed, defined time. With an audible signal at the end of the preparation, you won't miss the end of the program.

The pulse function starts the motor briefly and stops immediately when the button is released. This function is optimal for grinding grains to a certain level, chopping onions, or crushing ice. I find the operation very simple and quick. Within a few seconds, the ingredients for a smoothie are finely blended. I find the on/off switch, which is protected by a cover, to be a practical detail, as it is much easier to clean. In my experience, it always gets dirty :-).Keyboard of the OmniBlend V high-performance blender

With the included tamper, the ingredients can be pushed down during operation. The size is dimensioned so that it cannot get into the blade block when the lid is closed. If something has still settled at the bottom, a plastic or silicone scraper should be used.

The robust 6-steel blade system is suitable for both wet and dry applications. The 4 large blades ensure that even the hardest ingredients are crushed evenly. The 2 smaller blades ensure that the ingredients are constantly swirled upwards and no air bubbles can form at the bottom of the blender.

Thanks to the powerful motor and the precision blade system of the high-performance smoothie blender, the cell walls of green leafy vegetables are reliably broken down, releasing chlorophyll in high concentrations and preserving valuable nutrients (e.g., carotenoids) to a high degree. Green smoothies are extremely popular: they not only contain vitamins but also provide valuable vital substances, enzymes, and secondary plant compounds. High-performance blenders have become very important in the vegan raw food kitchen, as they can be used to easily and quickly conjure up grain milk, almond butter, creams, pastes, and snacks.

The OmniBlend is double-protected against overload: the motor switches off automatically if it gets too hot (temperature-controlled) or if the mixture is too solid or the blades are turning too slowly. An overload switch is located on the underside.

The innovative material Tritan was used for the container. It is shatterproof, scratch-resistant, and shockproof. I also find it practical because it is very light and makes it very easy to pour drinks. Furthermore, the material is food-safe, free of lead and barium, and contains no BPA. BPA is an ingredient in polycarbonate, a food-safe plastic used to make plastic bottles and coat tin cans, which is harmful to health. Although the food only stays in the containers for a short time (on average less than 2 minutes), this was avoided to ensure that no hazardous substances could get into the food.

I found the cleaning tips to be great, as the only small disadvantage is that the mixing container cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher. If discoloration has occurred due to vegetables, such as carrots, peppers, or tomato paste, the instruction manual provides household tips for cleaning with cooking oil, baking powder, or baking soda. The blender is very easy to clean because the mixing container is quite light and has hardly any corners or edges.

Blending a smoothie with the OmniBlend V

I tried out a smoothie with the OmniBlend V right away, where white chocolate was to be crushed. This is not possible with all blenders, as chocolate is usually much too hard. For the OmniBlend V, this was absolutely no problem. I broke the chocolate into small pieces and grated it finely using the 'Low' speed level. Then I mixed in the other ingredients, first with 'Low', then 'Medium', and finally briefly with 'High' until creamy. With my old blender, there were always a few pieces left (even if I blended it for a very long time). With this model, that is not the case; not a single piece of raspberry or chocolate remains.

By the way, here is the recipe for my smoothie:

First, cut the chocolate into large pieces and grind finely in the blender. Mix with the milk, the washed raspberries, and the vanilla ice cream until the desired consistency is reached.

Pour the smoothie into 2 nice glasses and decorate with a raspberry or a piece of white chocolate if desired.
