Especially in the winter months, when it gets dark so early, people love to craft beautiful things. We discovered candle decorating at a wonderful Christmas market. My daughter was immediately fired up, and I must admit – so was I. It is not difficult and the accessories are quickly bought, as they are not that expensive. Curious? Here are our instructions for it:
Crafting with children: decorating candles
What you’ll need:
Pillar candles (in supermarkets, furniture stores, Amazon)
- Wax sheets (in stationery or craft stores, such as Pagro etc., Amazon
- Cookie cutters (available in supermarkets, furniture stores, Amazon
Instructions:
Cut out beautiful shapes from the wax sheets and press them onto the candle. Warm them up a little with the palm of your hand, so the wax sticks much better. There are now many accessories available for this, such as candle pens with glitter and in various colors, so there are no limits to decorating. Our daughter was very enthusiastic and I already know what I want to do on a gloomy afternoon soon.
Extra tip: A great gift idea for grandparents or dear friends. Wrap it in clear foil and you have conjured up a unique gift.
