Who doesn't love the scent of fresh fir during the Christmas season? Artificial Advent arrangements or Christmas wreaths are all well and good, but the wonderfully earthy smell of fir reminds us of childhood days and is simply indispensable on the Christmas table. However, the heating quickly takes its toll on festive Christmas wreaths: the dry heat causes the fir branches to curl and drop their needles. The wreaths quickly become unsightly and look sad. To ensure the wreath lasts a long time and sheds fewer needles, here are a few care tips you should keep in mind:
Tips to make the Advent wreath last longer
Spray with water
To keep the wreath looking beautiful, spray it with a little water from time to time. This is best done with a water spray bottle. But be careful, not too much, otherwise it can get moldy.
Store in a cool place
I got this tip from my mom: put the Advent wreath out on the balcony or terrace overnight every now and then. This keeps the Advent wreath nice and fresh. I don't find the hairspray tip very suitable here because there are candles on the Advent wreath. I would only use hairspray for Christmas arrangements that do not have candles.
Extra tip:When buying, always make sure that the candle holders are larger than the candles themselves. Also, do not let the candles burn down to the very end, but replace them with new ones in good time.
