Recipe of the month: Couscous quark cream with fruit
Ingredients for 1 serving:
- 100 g quark (10% fat in dry matter)
- 100 ml buttermilk
- 1 apple – 150 g
- ½ banana – 70 g
- 40 g raw couscous
- 200 ml water, 1 tbsp nuts – 20 g, 1 tsp honey – 10 g
Preparation:
Bring water to a boil, stir in the couscous, then reduce the heat and let it swell for 4 minutes with the lid closed. Mix the quark and buttermilk. Cut the apple and banana into small cubes. Mix the stirred quark with the fruit and nuts, then fold in the couscous and sweeten with honey.
Tip: This couscous quark cream is very suitable as a snack for a hike as a "healthy" alternative to a sausage sandwich, because it contains carbohydrates, protein, and vitamins, and it is also easy to take along in a box in your backpack.
