Icing is very suitable for decorating your baked goods beautifully. It can be varied very well; here are a few tips about icing
Snow-white icing
To get a really beautiful snow-white icing, you should use hot milk instead of water.
Colorful icing
If white icing is too bland for you, you can also color it a nice pink for a change with cherry or beetroot juice. If you don't want the icing to be too sweet, you can also mix the powdered sugar with orange or lemon juice, which goes perfectly with sand or nut cakes.
Consistency of icing
Firm icing
If the glaze is not firm enough, this can be fixed with a few drops of egg white.
Soft icing
If you put 1 tsp butter in addition, the icing is much easier to spread. The butter also ensures that the icing does not break as easily when cutting.
Good covering glaze
To make the glaze cover better, heat the juice and brush the cake with a thin layer of warm jam before glazing.
Extra tip: to get a smooth surface, apply the glaze twice very thinly
Smooth icing
To obtain a particularly smooth and moist icing, add a pinch of baking powder to the glaze.
