Invitation cards for a children's birthday party

Children love celebrating their birthday with friends and lots of gifts. To ensure that every invited child (and their parents, of course!) knows when and where the party is taking place, it makes sense to distribute invitation cards. Making invitation cards

What is needed

• construction paper in bright colors
• scissors, possibly lever paper cutter
• possibly punches or punch set
• craft glue, Uhu Stick
• colorful Feathers, glitter stones, stickers, glitter dust
• possibly glitter pens

Instructions

The construction paper cut to the desired size of the card. Anyone with a steady hand can do this with scissors; I have a lever paper cutter with which nice straight sides are achieved. For the cover sheet, I cut out another piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the card, where the decorations can go. I also decorated the corners of this one with a punch set . I glued this smaller piece of cardboard onto the card. Now it's the children's turn:

They can decorate the card according to their own taste. We used glitter in a shaker container, RhinestonesChamomile teaFeathers, stickers as eyes and punches. There are no limits to the imagination here. In stationery or toy stores, there are wonderful accessories for decorating or complete sets, such as at Müller.

For children, glitter pens also very practical, as they can dose it a little better here than with glitter from a shaker. Ribbons, felt flowers, fabric, or paper are also suitable for decorating. Also nice are stamps, which the children can simply attach to the card. A nice idea is also for the children to create beautiful pictures using iron-on beads and glue them onto the card. Here, the children practice fine motor skills on the side, which is very important for writing.

Buying invitation cards

Anyone who doesn't want to craft, or wants very specific cards, can of course simply buy them. In stationery stores and even toy shops, you can buy great Invitation cards with the most diverse motifs. Is it going to be a pirate party? Or would you prefer Star Wars? Little girls will be delighted with horse or Frozen-themed invitations. Discuss with your child what they would like, or whether it should be a themed party. Here, you can buy entire party sets, which usually include not only garlands, paper plates, or napkins, but often invitations as well.

Filling out invitation cards

Who?

At the very top of the card, it should state who is being invited. From experience, a "blank invitation" can cause quite a bit of confusion and lead to an awkward conversation for the host parents.

From whom?

Here it should be noted who is celebrating their birthday. So, preferably first and last name (especially if there are several children with the same first name).

When?

After that, it should state exactly when the party is taking place. For this, include the date and the exact time: when the birthday party starts and also when it ends.

Where?

Here you write exactly where the party is to take place. If you are celebrating at home, provide your exact address with street and house number. For an external party, also add what it is: an indoor playground, a gym, etc.

Who to inform?

In this field, write your contact details, how you would prefer to be contacted: mobile number or email address. If it is not already pre-printed, add that you would appreciate a short RSVP so that you can plan the birthday party well.

Additional info

Anyone who wants to can add information here about what the birthday child would be happy to receive: Are they happy about Lego Star Wars or Frozen figures? In many toy stores, you can have boxes set up where your child can choose their toys and the guests can choose something from them at their leisure. Usually, stickers are given out here, which you can stick into the invitation card. Another possibility is to create an Amazon wish list. Here you can select beautiful gifts together with the birthday child, which the guests can order or buy elsewhere.

Addressing the envelope

Write the name of the invited child on the envelope again and note the name of the birthday child on the back.
