Make your own voucher card for an outing

Who hasn’t been there: you’re invited to a birthday party and the birthday person doesn’t want anything in particular. A nice idea, then, is to give the gift of “time.” Depending on the budget, this could be a nice meal in a great restaurant, or even an overnight hotel stay, or an outing with lots of friends. To top it all off, it is sometimes worth making a voucher card yourself. First of all, you can incorporate all your ideas individually, and the recipient can see here, too, that you took the time. Since it was that time again for us and we wanted to give someone a voucher, I designed a voucher card for an outing myself. Here are the simple craft instructions:

What is needed

• construction paper in bright colors
• corrugated cardboard
• white paper
• scissors, possibly lever paper cutter
• craft glue, Uhu Stick
• wool thread
• small Clothespins
• small photos, printed out
• possibly punches or punch set
• Decoration: e.g. colorful Feathers, glitter stones, stickers, glitter dust
• possibly glitter pens

Instructions

It looks nice when the construction paper and corrugated cardboard are selected in different shades of color. I chose green, so the construction paper is light green and the corrugated cardboard is dark green.

The construction paper cut to the desired size of the card. Anyone with a steady hand can do this with scissors; I have a lever paper cutter with which you get nicely straight sides. I chose light green construction paper and used it in A4 format. Now comes the corrugated cardboard, slightly smaller, which I bought in dark green. Cut a rectangle out of the sheet with scissors so that it is slightly smaller than the light green construction paper. Glue the corrugated cardboard centered onto the construction paper with Uhu. Now, in the upper third, right at the sides of the corrugated cardboard, make a hole on the left and right with the scissors. Thread the wool thread through here and knot it so tightly that it hangs down just slightly at the front. Fasten the 2 threads well on the back (preferably with a double knot and bow).

I selected the small photos to match the outing, so for example, if you are giving a trip as a gift, choose distinctive pictures of the city, or if you are giving a meal, choose a picture of the restaurant or food, etc. You can quickly find what you need on the internet. It is best to use 3 to 4 photos for the card, print them a little smaller on photo paper, and cut them out. These are then “mounted” on the wool thread using the clothespins. There should still be a little space left under the wool thread. Here I simply printed the word “Voucher” on white paper in dark green, in a nice font (just in Word!) and quite large. Again, cut it out nice and straight and glue it under the clothesline onto the corrugated cardboard with Uhu.

With punch set punch in beautiful motifs, glue on decorations such as colorful Feathers, glitter stones, stickers or glitter dust. Anyone who wants can also write an individual text on it with nice pens or glitter pens or add beautiful motifs using stamps .
