To alleviate earache a little until your doctor's visit, onion pouches can help. The onion has germ-killing and anti-inflammatory properties and is used as a home remedy for many ailments. Here are the instructions for an onion pouch:

Onion pouch for earache

To do this, heat the finely chopped onion in a pan without fat. Then place a tablespoon in the middle of a cloth handkerchief or an old sock and tie the ends tightly at the top.

Place the pouch on the patient's affected ear (caution: test first to make sure it is not too hot!) and secure it with a hat for about 30 – 60 minutes. It is best to do this while the pouch is still warm. This can be repeated several times a day.

Extra info:Sulfur-containing substances escape from the onions in the pouch, which act as a natural antibiotic and have an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, the essential oils provide pain relief and promote blood circulation.

Caution:If the pain does not improve, be sure to see a doctor!
