A head cold is annoying; you can't breathe and your nose is running. There is no vaccination and no therapy against cold viruses. The most important thing is to change your hygiene habits for the duration of the cold.
Correct hygiene behavior for colds
- Wash hands several times a day with water and soap
- Disinfect hands several times a day
- Ventilate rooms more often
- Avoid physical contact
- Are nasal sprays good for a cold?
Steam for a head cold
To alleviate the symptoms of a head cold a little, inhaling hot steam helps. To do this, bring 3-4 liters of water to a boil and pour it into a bowl; if you like, you can add 2 tablespoons of herbs (e.g., chamomile or thyme flowers, sage, or eucalyptus (from the pharmacy)).
Let it cool down a little, lean your head over the bowl, and place a towel over your head so that a small sauna is created. Inhale alternately through your mouth and nose for about 10 minutes. Afterward, rest and do not go directly out into the cold. The warm, moist air liquefies the stuck mucus and moistens the airways.
Extra tip:In addition to a head cold, it also helps with coughs and hoarseness. It also helps me very well with my stuffy nose during pregnancy. Simply use it before going to bed and you can breathe a little more freely!

If everyone followed these tips for proper hygiene, the next wave of colds would have a much harder time.
By the way, many people also swear by inhaling with salt. However, you need an electric inhaler for this. How and why can be found at http://www.inhalatortest.de/salz-im-dampf-inhalator-ein-mythos/
Now I hope that you (and I) get through the winter without a major cold.
