When a cold is just coming on, an ascending foot bath is the best remedy. The foot bath warms you intensely and activates the immune system; sometimes you can still avoid the cold this way.
Home Remedies – Foot bath for colds
Heat water to 35 degrees and fill a bowl or the bathtub ankle-deep. Within 15 minutes, slowly add hot water repeatedly to increase the temperature to 39 – 42 degrees, depending on how hot is still comfortable and tolerable.
Afterwards, dry your feet well with a towel and rest well covered for 30 minutes.
