This cake is easy to make and tastes really good, ideal for children's birthday parties.
Recipe for a chocolate cake
For smaller children, bake this amount in a springform pan with a 20 cm diameter. For older children, bake double the amount in a 24 cm diameter baking pan:
Ingredients:
- 140 g soft butter
- 4 eggs, separated
- 140 g sugar
- 140 g chocolate, soft
- 200 g flour
- 1/8 l milk
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1/2 packet baking powder
- approx. 200 g apricot jam
- 1 cup chocolate glaze
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 170 °C (338 °F) top and bottom heat. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Cream the egg yolks, sugar, vanilla sugar, and butter. Then stir in the milk. Now add the soft chocolate and mix well. Mix the flour with the baking powder and add to the cream. Now fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour the batter into a cake tin (26 cm baking tin) and bake in the oven at 170 °C for 1 hour. After cooling, cut the cake in half and fill with the apricot jam. Now place the second part back on the cake and coat the entire cake with the jam. Heat the chocolate glaze until it is nice and soft and cover the cake with it.
Extra tip: I like to decorate the cake with sugar pearls, Smarties, or marzipan figures.
