Children love to dress up, and for carnival or a birthday, a theme for the party is something different. Here I would like to list a few ideas for a proper pirate party .
Celebrating carnival with children: a pirate party
Before the party, some things should be organized and thought through. The room should be decorated a bit, those who like can send out invitation cards, and the pirates shouldn't go hungry:
The invitations for a carnival party with a pirate theme
First of all, you can distribute a very original invitation to all the little guests by handing each one a piece of a treasure map. For this, take a large sheet of paper and draw, for example, your apartment or garden on it with a few landmarks (e.g., sofa, kitchen, shed, etc.) and then, of course, with the big cross where the treasure is hidden. Then pull the paper through black tea so that it gets a really nice yellowed appearance. To prevent it from wrinkling too much, place the paper between 2 absorbent cardboard covers, weigh it down, and let it dry that way.
If you like, you can carefully char the edges a little with a lighter. When everything is dry, cut the treasure map into the number of little guests and include it with the invitation. One possibility is to roll up the paper and put it in small plastic or glass bottles or small boxes and then hand them to the children. Inside, there should also be an additional card containing the date, time, theme, and costume request, or it can be written on the back of the treasure map.

The walls can be covered with painted sheets of paper. Your children will surely be happy to help with the painting! Furthermore, the walls can be covered with blue fabrics, which then looks like the vast open sea.
As a treasure, you can take a larger box, or if you have one, a wooden chest, and hide the small gifts inside. These can be sweets wrapped in cellophane, small toys, etc. The boxes can be embellished with paper, foil, glitter, gold spray, etc.
Meanwhile, there are also great pirate decorations to buy.
The table
For this, you can also decorate the table a little: take a blue tablecloth or a foil that is supposed to represent the sea. On the table, you can then distribute pirate utensils, such as decorative ducats or play money, eye patches, confetti, streamers, also parts of a map again, flags (you can make these yourself with paper and wooden sticks, either paint the motifs yourself (skull, etc.) or search for them on the internet and print them out), small ships, parrots, telescopes, etc.
Food & Drink at a pirate party
When the little pirates return hungry from their treasure hunt, a little refreshment should be ready:
For food, finger food is best for the little pirates, such as chicken legs or nuggets, fish fingers, coin-shaped fries, carrot slices, etc. For in-between, you can make funny skewers with cold cuts, cheese, and pickles or with fruit. Use matching cocktail picks (available, for example, with maritime motifs, such as a sword or a steering wheel), where the treats can be nicely skewered.
As a dessert, you can make a Gold & Silver cake (decorate the cake with silver and gold sugar pearls) or a sheet cake with fruit and give it an original title, such as 'Sunken Treasures'.
With these party ideas, you have certainly earned a place among the little pirates and will get shining children's eyes as a thank you.
