Far too often we eat the lovelessly designed and squashed burgers at fast-food joints, where one hamburger is just like the other and everything tastes merely artificial and cardboard-like. Yet, the perfect burger is very easy to make yourself. It not only tastes better, but is also healthier.
Recipe for the perfect hamburger
Ingredients:
- Hamburger buns, 2 per person
- 400 g ground beef
- Iceberg lettuce
- Beefsteak tomatoes
- small onion
- Mayonnaise or mustard
- Cheese
- Pickles
- Tomato ketchup
- Salt & pepper
Instructions:
For the perfect hamburger, only use frozen patties from the supermarket freezer in an emergency; instead, buy some ground beef and make the meat patty yourself. This is not difficult at all: simply season the ground beef with a little salt and pepper, form into nice, flat patties, and fry evenly in a large pan with a little oil. Shortly before finishing, place a slice of cheese on the patty. Now the cheese can melt nicely, so that the flavor comes out even better.- Meanwhile, the hamburger buns are baked briefly in a preheated oven at 200°C (top and bottom heat) for about 10 to 12 minutes until crispy, and then the bottom of the bun is spread with a little mayonnaise or mustard. On top of this, place not the chunky lettuce leaves, but finely shredded iceberg lettuce, a few strips of onion, and now, of course, the still-hot ground beef patty.
- Finally, add a gherkin, a thin slice of a beefsteak tomato, and classically a dollop of tomato ketchup as a topping, before the bun lid completes it. The perfect hamburger is ready.
