Especially during the cold season, the Respiratory tract are further strained by the dry air, which is caused by heavy heating in indoor spaces. You can counteract this with a humidifier. This can be purchased in electronics stores or on Amazon bought.

Tips on what to look for in a humidifier

You should pay attention to the following technical features when buying a humidifier:

Energy consumption

There are some humidifiers that simply let water evaporate. These have an output of approx. 500-700 watts, which can lead to high costs during longer operating times.

Room size

When buying, pay attention to the room size specification; if your room is too large for the performance specification, the humidifier cannot perform its services properly.

Volume

It should be quiet in the bedrooms, so the humidifier must not be too loud. It is best to read reviews on the Internet, as this is usually mentioned if it is a problem with the respective model.

Consumables

Determine which consumables you need for the humidifier (filter mats, chemicals,...) and how much they cost.

In case of doubt, buy a cheap, but more expensive in terms of energy consumption, evaporator model for approx. €30 first. You will notice the difference in the morning after getting up. Your airways and mouth will no longer be dried out, you will simply feel more comfortable. If you are then convinced of the usefulness of a humidifier, you can still switch to a more expensive ultrasonic humidifier and sell the old one on Ebay.

Humidifier application

Lower the temperature in the bedroom slightly at night and let the humidifier run. Make sure that the bedroom door is closed so that the humid air does not escape immediately and the effect is reduced – because humidifiers are only designed for a certain room size.
