beadsI really like glittery things as decoration, and these DIY napkin rings are perfect for that.

Shopping list

  • 4 wooden napkin rings
  • Seed beads in various colors (or other small beads with holes on both sides)
  • Beading wire
  • Artificial flowers (e.g., sunflower or daisy flower heads)
  • hot glue
Instructions

Make a small knot on the beading wire and thread the seed beads in the desired colors (they look very elegant in two colors!). Wrap the beading wire around the napkin rings and knot the ends on one side only. To be absolutely sure that the wire does not slip, you can also fix the beading wire on the back with hot glue. If the napkin rings are too thin for you, you can also take 2 napkin rings each, coat them with hot glue and press them firmly together until they are dry. However, you will then need 8 napkin rings for 4 people.

If you like, you can now attach artificial flowers to the front with hot glue.

The napkin rings also look beautiful if you glue a seed bead tassel inside. To do this, cut a few pieces of beading wire to the same length (e.g., 6 pieces), make a small knot at one end, and thread the desired seed beads. It looks great here if a slightly larger bead is threaded at the bottom end. Then knot the top end tightly again so that the beads stay nicely on the beading wire.

Use beading wire (or thread, etc.) to tie the desired number of bead strands tightly together at the top end and glue them to the inside of the napkin rings with hot glue (in such a way that the top, tied end cannot be seen). If you don't want to make a tassel, you can also just glue the individual wires around the napkin ring with hot glue.

Your own napkin rings are finished and will surely attract some attention!
