Crafting: Napkins for the napkin technique

Is the wooden tray totally dull and outdated? There are several ways to make it look pretty again. One possibility is the napkin technique. With this craft technique, wood can be wonderfully upgraded. Here are a few tips on how to spruce up the wooden tray yourself with napkin technique and paint.

Instructions for napkin technique

For this craft you need:

Instructions

First, prime the wooden tray with a desired craft paint (should harmonize with the napkin motifs!) and let it dry completely. Then cut out the desired motifs from the napkins very precisely and peel off only the top, printed layer.

Glue these motifs onto the tray with the help of the napkin varnish & glue. To do this, paint the areas with the glue and place the motifs on top. Then paint over them again with the varnish & glue. Carefully smooth out the motifs with the hair brush – just be careful not to brush over them too often, otherwise the napkin might tear! Then let everything dry.

Finally, paint the entire tray again with the varnish & glue. Let everything dry well again.

Extra tip: If there is an edge on the tray, you can stick a ribbon on it. Or stick small bows on the edge. If you like, you can also simply paint the edge in a different color, but do this right after priming!
