This game is once again about dancing. Here, famous couples have to find each other and head to the dance floor. The game is very well suited for the beginning of the celebration so that the guests can get to know each other a little.
Wedding game instructions: Famous Couples
What you’ll need:
- Paper, preferably thicker construction paper, possibly in different colors
- pens
- two pots or bags
For this game, cards must be prepared, one for the female and one for the male person for the number of guests. Cut out these names and divide them into the two pots – one pot for the women and one for the men. Create a list of all the famous couples for the moderator, who will call out the pairs one by one.
Examples of famous couples:
- Cleopatra & Caesar
- Romeo & Juliet
- Hera & Zeus
- Liz Taylor & Richard Burton
- Princess Kate & Prince William
- Miss Piggy & Kermit
- Daisy & Donald Duck
- Minnie & Mickey Mouse
- Scarlett O’Hara & Rhett Butler
- Empress Sissi and Emperor Franz
- Eve and Adam
- Jane & Tarzan
- Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell
- Elton John and David Furnish
- etc.
Game procedure at the wedding
At the wedding, the moderator briefly explains the procedure and lets each lady draw from the pot containing the female characters and the gentlemen from the other.
When all cards have been drawn, the famous people are called out individually and asked to go to the dance floor. This creates randomly mixed dance pairs. If you like, you can also photograph these pairs with an instant camera (perhaps even hold the cards up to the camera!). Then, of course, there must be dancing.
Extra tip:If you don't want to make it quite so easy for the guests, you can ask the guests to go to the dance floor after they have drawn, and they are only allowed to try to find out who their partner is by asking questions. (e.g., If I am Cleopatra, I would ask all male dancers: Were you a Roman?).
