To show your photos in the best light, you can put them in homemade frames with lace borders. It looks very romantic and is not much effort.
DIY picture frames with lace
Instructions for beautifully decorating a picture frame with lace:
What you’ll need:
- Papier-mâché picture frame (craft store)
- Craft paint (e.g., in white)
- White (or whatever color is desired) cotton lace with various patterns
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- hot glue
For decoration:
- Cord
- Artificial flower heads
- Rhinestones
- Glass beads (e.g., in heart or star shape, etc.)
- Boxwood garlands
Instructions:
First, the picture frames are primed with the craft paint and set aside to dry. Now the lace is applied to the frames. First, lay it out how you would like it to look. You can apply several layers of lace, or for an oval cutout, it looks very nice if you gather the lace a little and attach it around the cutout. After you have arranged a pattern, glue the lace onto the frame with hot glue – this has to be done very quickly, because it dries very fast!
After everything has dried, the decoration follows: here you can either hide the transitions with a cord or a boxwood garland, or decorate the frame with flower heads, glass beads, or rhinestones. You can feel free to play around a bit with how you decorate the frames.
Finally, just put the photos in and set them up! The individual picture frame is finished.
